The cooling capacity of air conditioners is generally measured by BTU/h. There are almost no portable air conditioners below 5000BTU in the market, except Zero Breeze. The following table shows the approximate relationship between BTU and the size of the cooling space, which can be used for reference. It is important to note that when considering the size of the space, the cooling effect is closely related to the insulation condition, the sun exposure, the humidity, and the climate.
BTU Room size (length x width)
7,500 150 sq ft
9,000 200 sq ft
10,000 300 sq ft
The following websites have a reference calculation of the relevant BTU and space size. It is for reference only. The actual effect and the calculation result have certain deviations.

The Zero Breeze Mark 2 has a cooling capacity of 2300 BTU/h and can be used for spaces smaller than 50 sq ft based on the above estimates. Based on our test, its ideal cooling space is 25~40 sq ft. When the ambient temperature is 100F/38C, the humidity is about 50%, there is no sunlight, well insulation, and the space temperature can drop 9-22F/5-10C.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the cooling effect is also related to the working time. Mark 2 only needs 5-10 minutes to blow the coolest air. Around the air outlet, especially when blowing toward to your face, it’s really really cool. But it needs about 30 minutes or even longer to cool down the whole space.
Yes, Zero Breeze Mark 2 will achieve optimum operating efficiency at an ambient temperature of 82F-95F. Above 95F, the machine can work as well, and the system power will increase significantly due to the increase in ambient temperature. In order to prevent exceeding the maximum rated power, the machine will reduce the main frequency of the compressor according to the ambient temperature.
The 3-person tent we tested:
70.9" x 82.7" x 40.9" or
5.9 x 6.9 x 3.4 ft (41 sqft) or
1.8 x 2.1 x 1.0 m (3.8 m2)
When we are going to cool down a given size space, the cooling effect is closely related to the number of people inside, the insulation condition, the sun exposure, and the climate. Based on our test, it’s ideal cooling space is 25~40 sq ft, while the ambient temperature is 100F/38C, humidity is about 50%, no direct sunlight, good insulation condition, and the temperature can be reduced by 9-22F/5- 10C.
Zero Breeze Mark 2 has a cooling capacity of 2300 BTU/h. The following website has a reference calculation of the BTU needed given the space size. The actual result has a certain deviation from the calculation.

Zero Breeze Mark 2 is a compressor driven air conditioner. It works just like traditional air conditioners, but it has many improvements in terms of structure size, power supply, noise reduction, and portability, making it not only usable in rooms, but also in other places where traditional air conditioners cannot be used.
When cooling the room, we need to consider the size of the room, whether there are windows or doors to put the venting pipe, drainage problem, and power supply.
1) The size of the room
The ideal cooling area for Zero Breeze Mark 2 is 25~40sq ft. If your room is larger than that, although the cooling effect of the whole space is not obvious, you can also feel comfortable at location closer to the machine, especially near the cold air vent. The cool air can be breezed as far as 2m distance while it works at the highest speed.
You may also use two or more Mark 2 to work simultaneously, depending on the size of your room space and your personal cooling needs.
2) Venting hoses
Zero Breeze Mark 2 uses dual hose venting heat system. One hose takes in fresh air, and then the air passes through the condenser and takes its heat away through another hose. When you know how it works, you will understand what you need to do with the two hoses. The best way to cool down a space is to connect the two hoses and separate them slightly out of the window or outside the door.
Anyway, you can also get cooled even without installing the two hoses, in which case, to prevent the system generated heat being concentrated in space, it is recommended to open the door and window.
3) Drainage problem
Zero Breeze Mark 2, like a traditional air conditioner, turns the gaseous water in the air into liquid. It uses gravity to collect and drain the generated water. The inside space can store condensed water for about 1-2 hours, depending on the humidity. You may raise the Mark 2 backwards to drain water to somewhere when it’s full.
You can also connect the water pipe comes with unit to drain the water to a collector/bottle or directly to the ground.
Please NOTE, do not tilt the Mark 2 forward or sideways when Mark 2 is working or being carried. Otherwise, water may leak from the front or side, which might affect the internal circuit. However, you don't have to worry too much about the product being damaged, because the internal circuit is processed to be waterproof for a short time.
4) Power supply
The Zero Breeze Mark 2 works at 24V, which can be powered by a 24V battery or a power adapter (Input: 110V-240V, Output: 24V, 240W). If you want it to work all the time, then power it directly with the adapter.
Please NOTE, the battery for Mark 2 does not support charging while working. You may need to buy an additional battery and power adapter as a backup.
Zero Breeze Mark 2 works like a car air conditioner, but we have made a lot of improvements in terms of structure size, power supply, noise reduction, and portability, so that it can cool you in the vehicle without having to keep the engine running all the time, which is very quiet and saves energy.
When using it in the vehicle, we need to consider the size of the space to be cooled, the sun exposure, whether there are windows or doors to mount the venting hose, drainage problem, and power supply.
1) The size of the space to be cooled
The ideal cooling area for Zero Breeze Mark 2 is 25~40 sq ft. If the space is larger than that, although the cooling effect of the whole space is not obvious, you can also feel comfortable at location closer to the air conditioner, especially near the cold air vent. The cool air can be breezed as far as 2m distance when it works at the highest speed.
You may also use two or more Mark 2 to work simultaneously, depending on the size of your space size and your personal cooling needs.
2) Sun exposure
We know that under the average sun exposure, the temperature inside the car will rise dramatically, because the heat generated by sunlight is 283.6 BTU/sq ft, and the area of 25 sq ft is about 7090 BTU, which will far exceed Zero Breeze Mark 2 capability of 2300 BTU. That’s why the average cooling capacity of a car air conditioner is far more than 10,000 BTU/h.
Therefore, using the Zero Breeze Mark 2 air conditioner in the vehicle during the day is difficult to cool the whole space dramatically, but you can feel comfortable at location closer to the machine, especially near the cold air vent. It is recommended to use Mark 2 after the space has been cooled by the vehicle air conditioner to keep the cool temperature, which is a good choice for temporary rest or cooling the pet.
But in the shade, especially at night, the situation will be much better, because there is no external source of heat, which is a very good cooling option for campers or trucks.
3) Venting hoses
Zero Breeze Mark 2 uses dual hose venting heat system. One hose takes in fresh air, and then the air passes through the condenser and takes its heat away through another hose. When you know how it works, you will understand what you need to do with the two hoses. The best way to cool down a space is to connect the two hoses and separate them slightly out of the window or outside the door.
You may need some DIY when installing the hose, and we will also develop some accessories.
It should be noted that the dual hose does not bring the outside fresh air into the vehicle, but passes through the condenser and then goes out of the machine. Therefore, when you or the pet is resting in the vehicle, please do not keep the space completely sealed.
4) Drainage problem
Zero Breeze Mark 2, like a traditional air conditioner, turns the gaseous water in the air into liquid. It uses gravity to collect and drain the generated water. The inside space can store condensed water for about 1-2 hours, depending on the humidity. You may raise the Mark 2 backwards to drain water to somewhere when it’s full;
You can also connect the water pipe comes with unit to drain the water to a collector/bottle or directly to the ground.
It should be noted that when the vehicle is bumping, the water may leak from the front or the side. It is recommended to raise the front of the air conditioner slightly when using it, and fix it well to prevent rollover. However, you don't have to worry too much about the product being damaged, because the internal circuit is processed to be waterproof for a short time.
5) Power supply
Zero Breeze Mark 2 supports the use of 24v battery or power adapter to access 110-240V power supply. It’s maximum power is about 210W, and the corresponding maximum current is about 9A. We know you may want to power the air conditioner directly through the cigarette lighter. But you need to find out if your cigarette lighter outputs 24V and can provide enough power(210W). Usually the cigarette lighter in the car outputs 12V, and you need a 12V to 24V converter. Considering the conversion efficiency of the converter, at least 250W power (close to 21A peak current) is required from the cigarette lighter. If this is not the case, it is not recommended to use the cigarette lighter to power the Mark 2 as this will damage your cigarette lighter circuit.
If you have a inverter more than 250W outputs 110V/240V, you can use the adapter comes with Mark 2 to make the air conditioner work. If not, it is recommended that you use the Zero Breeze Mark 2 battery to power the air conditioner. It normally can work for 3-5 hours in cool mode (more than 5 hours in sleep mode).
You can charge the Mark 2 battery through the 12V-24V converter connected to the cigarette lighter port. It should be NOTED that Mark 2 battery does not support working while charging. If you want to power the machine while charging the battery, you need to buy an extra battery and an extra power adapter.
Zero Breeze Mark 2 works like a car air conditioner, but we have made a lot of improvements in terms of structure, size, power supply, noise reduction, and portability, so that it can cool you in a small cabin on a boat.
When using it on a boat, we need to consider the size of the space to be cooled, the sun exposure, whether there are windows or doors to mount the venting hose, drainage problem, and power supply.
We know that under the average sun exposure, the temperature in the cabin will rise, because the heat generated by sunlight is 283.6 BTU/sq ft, and the area of 25 sq ft is about 7090 BTU, which will far exceed Zero Breeze Mark 2 capability of 2300 BTU. That’s why the average cooling capacity of a car air conditioner is far more than 10,000 BTU/h.
If the insulation of the cabin is very good, or it’s at night, the situation will be much better. As there is no external source of heat, Zero Breeze Mark 2 will be a perfect cooling option for sleeping all the night.
You may need some DIY when installing the hose, and we will also provide some accessories.
It should be noted that the air brought in by one of the hose passes through the condenser and then goes out of the machine through another hose. There is no fresh air brought into the cabin by the machine. Therefore, when you are resting in the cabine, please do not keep the space completely sealed.
4) Drainage problem
Zero Breeze Mark 2, like a traditional air conditioner, turns the gaseous water in the air into liquid. It uses gravity to collect and drain the generated water. The inside space can store condensed water for about 1-2 hours, depending on the humidity. You may raise the Mark 2 backwards to drain water to somewhere when it’s full.
You can also connect the water pipe comes with unit to drain the water to a collector/bottle or directly to the ground.
It should be noted that when the boat is waving, the water may leak from the front or the side. It is recommended to raise the front of the air conditioner slightly when using it, and fix it well to prevent rollover. However, you don't have to worry too much about the product being damaged, because the internal circuit is processed to be waterproof for a short while.
5) Power supply
Zero Breeze Mark 2 supports the use of 24v battery or power adapter to access 110-240V power supply. It’s maximum power is about 210W, and the corresponding maximum current is about 9A. We know you may want to power the air conditioner directly through your own battery. But you need to find out if your battery outputs 24V and can provide enough power (210W). If your battery outputs 12V, you need a 12V to 24V converter. Considering the conversion efficiency of the converter, at least 250W power (close to 21A peak current) is required from your battery. If your battery can’t provide such power, it is not recommended to use it to power the Mark 2 as this may damage your battery.
If you have a 110V-240V inverter power system which has more than 250W power, you can use the adapter comes with Mark 2 to make the air conditioner work. If not, it is recommended to use the Zero Breeze Mark 2 battery to power the air conditioner. It normally can work for 3-5 hours in cool mode (more than 5 hours in sleep mode).
It should be NOTED that Mark 2 battery does not support working while charging. If you want to power the machine while charging the battery, you need to buy an extra battery and an extra power adapter.
Zero Breeze Mark 2 works like a car air conditioner, but we have made a lot of improvements in terms of structure, size, power supply, noise reduction, and portability, so that it can be adaptable to the small space of a private aircraft.
It should be noted that, considering the safety of the flight, we recommend that it be used only before take-off and that the air conditioner must be firmly fixed during the flight to prevent accidents.
When cooling the cabin space before take-off, we need to consider the size of the cabin space, the sun exposure, whether there are windows to mount the venting hose, drainage problem, and power supply.
1) The size of the space to be cooled
The ideal cooling area for Zero Breeze Mark 2 is 25~40 sq ft. If your cabin space is larger than this area, although the cooling effect of the whole space is not obvious, but the temperature of the air outlet is relatively low, and you can use the air duct to direct the cold air directly to the place you want to blow. Of course, depending on the size of the space and the individual's need for cooling, you can choose two or more Mark 2 to work at the same time.
2) Sun exposure
We know that under the average sun exposure, the temperature in the cabin will rise, because the heat generated by sunlight is 283.6 BTU/sq ft, and the area of 25 sq ft is about 7090 BTU/h, which will far exceed Zero Breeze Mark 2 capability of 2300 BTU/h. That’s why the average cooling capacity of a car air conditioner is far more than 10,000 BTU/h.
In the daytime sunlight, it is difficult to cool the whole cabin space with the Zero Breeze Mark 2 air conditioner, but it can cool down and dehumidify the area close to the cool air outlet.
In the night, the situation will be much better. Since there is no externally continuous heating source, the Zero Breeze Mark 2 air conditioner will be able to cool the whole cabin space.
3) Venting hoses
Zero Breeze Mark 2 uses dual hose venting heat system. One hose takes in fresh air, and then the air passes through the condenser and takes its heat away through another hose. When you know how it works, you will understand what you need to do with the two hoses. The best way to cool down a space is to connect the two hoses and separate them slightly out of the window.
However, installing an exhaust pipe on a window can be dangerous to the flight. Therefore we only recommend that you use the Zero Breeze Mark 2 before taking off. Even if you are using the Zero Breeze Mark 2 during the flight, it is forbidden to extend the exhaust pipe out of the window.
4) Drainage problem
Zero Breeze Mark 2, like a traditional air conditioner, turns the gaseous water in the air into liquid. It uses gravity to collect and drain the generated water. The inside space can store condensed water for about 1-2 hours, depending on the humidity. You can also connect the water pipe comes with unit to drain the water to a collector/bottle.
IIt should be noted that when the aircraft is bumping, water may leak from the front or side. When using it, it is recommended to raise the front of the air conditioner a little and fix it on the aircraft to prevent rollover.
5) Power supply
Zero Breeze Mark 2 supports the use of 24v battery or power adapter to access 110-240V power supply. It’s maximum power is about 210W, and the corresponding maximum current is about 9A. We know you may want to power the air conditioner directly through your own power supply. But you need to find out if your power source outputs 24V and can provide enough power (210W). If it outputs 12V, you need a 12V to 24V converter. Considering the conversion efficiency of the converter, at least 250W power (close to 21A peak current) is required. If your device can’t provide such power, it is not recommended to use it to power the Mark 2 as this may damage your power source.
