How to Remotely Turn On Your ZERO BREEZE Mark 3

Wish you could step into a cool space the moment you arrive? Whether it's your boat, airplane, van, or job site, that first wave of cool air can make all the difference—especially on a hot day.
Even though the Mark 3 doesn't come with built-in Wi-Fi, many of our customers have found an easy way to remotely turn it on, using just a smart plug and a few simple settings. Here's how you can do it too.
Set Up Remote Control in 3 Simple Steps
This method takes only 3 simple steps and doesn't require any technical skills or modifications.
Step 1: Enable Auto Power-On Mode
The Mark 3 has a built-in Auto Power-On feature. When enabled, the unit will automatically power on as soon as electricity is supplied. No need to press the power button.
To enable or disable this mode:
- Press and hold the "Temp +" and "Temp –" buttons (on the unit or remote) for about 3 seconds.
- You'll hear:
- One beep = Auto Power-On is off
- Two beeps = Auto Power-On is on
Make sure you hear two beeps, which means it's ready for remote control.
Tip: The Auto Power-On mode is enabled by default, so your Mark 3 is ready for this setup right out of the box.
Step 2: Plug It Into a Smart Wi-Fi Plug
A smart Wi-Fi plug lets you control regular electrical devices remotely via your smartphone, using Wi-Fi. It can turn devices on or off, set schedules, and even monitor energy usage through an app or voice assistant like Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Apple HomeKit.
Simply plug your Mark 3's power adapter into a compatible smart plug. This will allow you to remotely toggle power to the unit via your smartphone as long as the Wi-Fi connection in the space is stable.
Note: Only connect the smart plug to AC power sources. Avoid using it with DC power outlets, such as those in vehicles.

Step 3: Use Your Smart Plug App to Power On the Mark 3
With Auto Power-On enabled, all you need to do is open your smart plug's app on your phone and turn it on. Your Mark 3 will automatically power up when it receives power.
Tip: You can even schedule the smart plug to turn your Mark 3 on or off at specific times. Just remember to set your preferred Mark 3 settings before turning it off, so it's ready the next time it powers up.
That's it! No extra hardware, no internal changes—just a smart plug and you're all set.
User Story: How a Pilot Pre-Cools His Plane with the Mark 3
One Mark 3 user, a private pilot, shared how he uses this setup to cool his aircraft before arrival. Since he has Wi-Fi in his hangar, he simply turns on the smart plug a few minutes before takeoff, ensuring a cool cockpit when he arrives.
This same method works perfectly for boats, vans, trailers, and even remote job sites with available Wi-Fi and power.
