Key Features

  • Outdoor Placement: With the Dual Hose Cold Air Intake Accessory, your Mark 2 AC can be positioned outside the sleeping or living area. This setup frees up valuable interior space, allowing you to maximize the utility of your tent or camper.
  • Efficient Cooling: This accessory enhances the cooling cycle by returning the airflow to the Mark 2 AC for further cooling before redistributing it back into the space.
It minimizes the loss of cold air and ensures that even when placed outside, the Mark 2 AC operates as efficiently as if it were inside, saving energy and maintaining comfort.
  • Enhanced Comfort: By isolating the operational noise of the Mark 2 AC outside the living or sleeping area, this setup delivers a quieter cooling experience, ensuring your comfort isn’t disturbed by the sound of machinery.

Installation Guide for Dual Hose Cold Air Intake Accessory

Ensure optimal performance and durability of your Mark 2 AC by following these setup instructions carefully. Before installation, check the compatibility of your unit.

Remove the Front Intake Grill of your Mark 2 AC and check the clasps. Refer to the provided diagrams to determine if you have the v1 or v2 version.

For v1 Versions: Use snips or a similar tool to trim the clasps down by approximately 5mm as shown in the illustration; no modification is needed for v2 versions.

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Connect the Duct to the Air Intake Adapter: Attach the air intake adapter to one end of the duct by rotating it into place. Position the other end of the duct into the area you wish to cool.

  2. Remove the Front Intake Grill from Mark 2: Detach the front intake grill from your Mark 2 AC. Install the air intake adapter in its place to draw in external air more efficiently.

  3. Attach the Mark 2 Extended Cold Air Duct: Connect the extended cold air duct to the Mark 2 AC. Ensure the other end of the cold air duct is directed towards the interior space you want to cool.

Note: The Mark 2 unit comes standard with three ducts, so no additional purchase is necessary for the exhaust setup when placing the unit outside.

Additional Tips for Outdoor Setup

  • Wind Considerations: If there is wind, to prevent hot air from being sucked back into the condenser, attach a duct to the intake or exhaust port of the radiator section.
  • Remote Control Accessibility: If you are concerned about the convenience of using the remote control with the AC unit placed outside, consider purchasing an Infrared Remote Extender Cable available here: Infrared Remote Extender Cable for Mark 2 AC.
  • Weather Protection: When placing the AC unit outdoors, ensure it is sheltered from rain. Position it in a covered area or use a rain cover, making sure not to block the air intake and exhaust areas critical for efficient operation.
